Pokello was in Ghana for Selly’s birthday and to be with boyfriend, Elikem.
At the launch of SuperMums at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra, Elikem’s mother was at the event where Pokello met her. Looks like Pokello has been well accepted into the Kumordzie family.
Former Big Brother Africa (BBA): The Chase Zimbabwe representative, Pokello Nare, who has been in Ghana for the past two weeks with Ghanaian BBA housemate and lover Elikem Kumordzie says she is making money in Ghana as she parties. She said she cherishes the "quality time" she is having in the West African country.
Pokello has met Elikem's relatives and reports from Ghana say she has often been spotted at shopping malls shopping with her prospective sisters-in-law.
The programme in Ghana involved a lot of travelling from region to region. The lovebirds toured and partied in three regions in Ghana with the last party held in Ghana's oil city, Takoradi, on Monday. The parties were well funded and supported by industry giants such as sponsors of BBA, Airtel and Smirnoff.
Asked about her stay in Ghana, Pokello said she was having a great experience since she was also spending quality time with Elikem.
"All that partying I'm doing here (Ghana) is not just partying, those are paid appearances," she said.
Pokello, who refused to disclose the amount of money she had made in Ghana, said there was more to the parties.
"We charge for all our appearances at clubs and currently we are raising funds for a two-year-old girl in Ghana who was born with a hole in her heart to enable her to undergo surgery in South Africa," she added.
The mother of one seems to have taken her relationship with Elikem further. She said she was ready to marry Elikem and was waiting for him to pay her bride price.
Besides partying, Pokello has signed endorsement deals which she said could not be disclosed until the commercials and billboards go up.
She has also met influential ministers in Ghana and top actors such as John Okafor, who is popularly known in entertainment circles as Mr Ibu. Pokello has also been marketing Elikem's designer clothes as she has been attending events clad in the designer outfits.
When Elikem came to Zimbabwe a few weeks ago, he spent most of his time travelling and attending a series of parties in Harare and Bulawayo. He barely had time to rest as he had to do a lot of travelling and appearances at different venues.
The two lovers used some of the proceeds they garnered from the appearances to give back to the community when they donated blankets and foodstuffs to Thembiso Children's Home in Bulawayo.
Their love is still waxing strong. The couple now called Polikem shared these pictures of themselves rocking matching outfits, right down to their shoes. You like? Also check out their pictures with our very own Mr Ibu after the cut
Lovebirds Elikem and Pokello(Polikem) are definitely getting it on, you don't need a crystal ball to determine how true their affection for each other is. The two were yesterday spotted together at the La Villa Boutique in OSU, on a regular post-BBA tight daily routine.
They recorded a television interview, which was aired later Thursday evening on Multi TV. More pics after the cut:
Big Brother Africa-The Chase finalist, Elikem Kumordzie's plans to marry Pokello Nare are at an advanced stage.
Elikem, who is in the country for a five-day stay, said lobola in Zimbabwe is expensive.
"I have heard that the bride price is expensive in Zimbabwe compared to Ghana although it's not for free but cheap in my country. So far, I am saving money for lobola and plans are now at an advanced stage. I will let you know the dates when the time comes," he said. The 24-year-old ex-housemate said Zimbabwe is full of loving people.
BBA- The Chase finalist Elikem, has said he wants to marry pokello, but what is holding him is the ''LOBOLA''(Bride price) which is very expensive in Zimbabwe, Pokello's Country.
And Pokello on the other hand said she would love to be his wife that what they are waiting for is for Elikem to pay the "lobola"
The “short” display of romance between Ghana’s Elikem and Zimbabwe’s Pokello when they kissed on stage after Elikem was evicted two weeks ago at the Big Brother Africa finals, must have made many among the audience and viewers across Africa exclaim under their breath, “these two again.”
And why not? The couple who were voted the show’s most romantic housemates probably wanted to send a signal that what they started in the house was real and not fake as many suggested.
Though there was a hint of a possible relationship back in the house and later confirmation by the couple themselves after the show, a lot of people have doubted the sustainability of Elikem 24, and 27-year-old Pokello’s relationship.
Following the talk about their age difference which seems to have created a lot of “buzz” recently, Elikem says he was not worried about age as a factor in choosing a partner he wants to be with. Elikem is three years younger than Pokello.
Speaking with Showbiz last Tuesday, he said though a lot of people have questioned the rationale for being an “item” with the older Pokello, he could not be bothered about their age difference.
“I don’t know why people would want to make a fuss about our relationship because of the age difference. If I find some qualities of a virtuous wife in a woman, I don’t know what age has got to with it.
“I went to the house not attached to any woman. By God’s grace, I found someone like Pokello and I don’t know why we both cannot start on a good note because of age factor.
“I don’t feel younger at all and I’m very much okay. I have dated a lady five years older than me before so the age difference between Pokello and I, is actually not a big deal for me,” he stated.
He dismissed claims that he was caught in a love triangle with housemates Feza, Fatimah and Pokello before finally settling on the Zimbabwean lady.
“I was never a playboy or confused as people are suggesting. The truth is that I made moves on Feza because I thought she was a nice person I could start something with but she turned me down because her culture frowned on a woman dating a younger guy.
“She also made me understand that she was in love with Oneal and I had to respect her decision. As for Fatima, she was just a friend and nothing more than that,” Elikem added.
On life in the Big Brother house, Elikem dispelled the public perception that most of the happenings in the House were staged.
“You have no idea how difficult it is to be locked up in a house with no radio and television. It is really a difficult situation and whatever viewers saw was100 percent real”.
He was rather hesitant to comment on Pokello’s sex tape with her ex-boyfriend because that was in the past and he was looking forward to the future with Pokello.
Elikem said he was not bothered by the cultural differences that exist between Ghana and Zimbabwe because from what he learnt from Big Brother, Africans are one people and marrying Pokello would have nothing to do with her nationality.
Asked how soon Ghanaians should expect to hear the wedding bells, he let out an infectious laugh and said: “It is too early to talk about marriage but I think things are looking good for us. We just started and waiting for what the future holds for us.”
Pokello is expected to be in Ghana on September 13 for Elikem’s welcome party at the Aphrodisiac Night Club and another at the Vienna City night club in Kumasi a week later.
For now, Elikem says he is taking advantage of the popularity gained from Big Brother to build his brand and acting career which took off before he entered the Big Brother house.
“I already have three scripts and I know people will enjoy that aspect of my life apart from the fashion business. Ghanaians should expect nothing but the best of Elikem ‘the tailor’ as I journey into the world of show business,” he stated.
Elikem was the first Ghanaian housemate to get to the finals of the Big Brother Africa show since its inception seven years ago. Before Big Brother, Elikem had a taste of the make-belief industry when he featured in two films by Abdul Salam Mumuni titled Cheaters and Hunters.
