Wizkid and Akon Reject Dark-Skinned Models For Video Shoot In Ghana

According to Ghanaian fashion website, FashionGhana.com and American website -Bossip-
Ahead of the upcoming concert that will see the likes of Akon, WizKid, Sarkodie and more in Ghana, controversy sparks! In a recent video shoot for an up and coming Akon and WizKid video, some Ghanaian models and girl were called upon to participate by the directors a few days ahead of the shoot. Presumably prior to Akon and Wiz Kids arrival in Ghana.

A model reported on the day of the shoot some girls were turned away as the agent (or the man responsible for calling them) informed them that “they now want half cast girls”. A term used to describe girls with mixed heritage, usually ones with white blood in them.

“THEY”, most likely referring to WizKid, Akon and/or his music video producer, turning away a fleet of arrivals originally requested to attend by the model scout. In fact, the agent requested if the girls could help him seek light skinned girls because ‘THEY’ were so adamant on this request even on late notice.

Nigeria, where WizKid is from, and Senegal where Akon is from, are countries both flooded with girls bleaching their skin simply because of such discrimination and being made to feel ugly if dark. Not just in media and modelling, but general favours in life. Whilst there are good people in both countries trying to reverse the self esteem damage of such activities such as Adama Paris who banned skinned bleach models from the Senegalese national fashion week, Akon and WizKid’s team are trying to further such acts internationally.

Few months back Wizkid insulted a fan on Twitter by calling him “broke”, many people cautioned him for the statement. A senior musician, J-Martins warned him to stop insulting his fans because music is a business that comes and go, no guarantees. But Wizkid refused to take J-Martins advise in good fate.

Back to the present. Wizkid had a big concert in Abuja on Sunday and many Nigerian’s boycotted the show. The gist going round now is that Wizkid was punished by the fans because of his arrogance. The show was meant to start at 5pm but as at 9:30pm majority of the seats were empty, Wizkid was forced to perform for a near-empty hall….
I think those managing Wizkid should know that he is a very young man, so whenever he commits any of his youthfulness-related blunders they should talk to him to be humble, apologize and move on.
No doubt Wizkid is one of the best young artiste around but without the fans a musician is nothing!

 And this seems to be the case with Captain Planet, a member of Ghanaian group 4×4. In one of the tracks in their new album, the group criticized Ghanaian DJs and radios for playing more of foreign content (especially Wizkid's) and less of Ghanaian music.

 It all started as a joke, he was simply somebody who nobody would give a second glance. That era has gone. Today, he is an A-list act, headlining shows, getting endorsement deals and basically, making millions. He is called Wizkid.
 No doubt, the young lad has paid his dues as it were, for few years back, nobody would have thought the ‘errand boy’ would grow to become this big. Indeed, his talents and luck, shone and now, Wizkid is a superstar.
 But it seems stardom is getting to his head.
Recently, the Internet was agog when the singer called a fan ‘broke’ for correcting a grammatical error he made.
The singer posted on his instagram that he was about to perform at a wedding with ‘an hangover’. The crime of the fan was telling Wizkid the correct thing to say was ‘a hangover’.
His reply angered fans who quickly reminded him that he was not born rich and it was the ‘broke’ fans who made him who he is at the moment.
Wiz hasn’t only been misbehaving online. The kid took his arrogance to another height when he allegedly poured his drink on a fan in London.
Speculation has it that all the fan did was to reach out to Wizkid to greet him. Probably trying to impress an American hip-hop sensation, Wiz allegedly called the fan, Oloshi (Idiot). The shocked American took to instagram to talk about Wiz’s atiitude.
Although the kid was lucky in London, luck ran out when he allegedly tried ignoring fans who had been waiting to get a glimpse of him in Lagos. This time the fans physically reacted to his arrogance.
Dear Wiz was reportedly stoned by angry fans at the VFS Global Services, Lekki Phase 1 over the his arrogant attitude and his refusal to part with some naira notes despite the much accolades he got from the cheering crowd who were so elated to catch a glimpse of him.
Apparently our wonder boy was in a foul mood or perharps, he wasn’t given a visa for he ‘boned’ and shunned the cheering crowd as he walked arrogantly into the waiting Porsche Cayenne.
It was gathered that Wizkid’s silence and arrogance got the cheering fans angrier and they stoned him as he drove off. Unfortunately for Wizkid, one of the stones hit his side mirror but he didn’t bother stopping anyway.
At the moment, not a few are angry with the kid and his attitude. Some fans told Saturday Beat that it was high time they “boycotted Wizkid.”
Another fan Reginald said, “Wizzy is just a kid and that is what he will be until he grows up! Let’s keep praying he grows soon.”

 Wizkid, Ayo Balogun has got every reason to beat his chest again, even going as far as calling everyone “broke” this time around with a bit of a smirk on his face is another feat that has been added to his mounting heap of honours and accomplishments.

Though the 24-year-old met a lot of big guns on the scene but it appears he is out-muscling them on the popularity Contest by a long stretch. The twitter followers check reveals the  ‘Pakurumo’ crooner has followers totalling over 720,000 while next in line to him, D’Banj, Tuface Idibia and close rival Davido are a long shot away, with the closest person with followers less than 400,000 people.

For sometime now, leading social media, twitter has been the litmus test to measure popularity, especially among entertainers the world over. Lady Gaga got so big she felt she should have a social media of her own, hence ‘Little Monsters’ was born.

Angry Fans Stone Wizkid, Damaging His Porsche In Lekki

Being a celebrity comes with much responsibilities of which includes parting away some naira notes as situation presents especially when celebs get stocked in the midst of loving fans.
Ayodeji Balogun a.k.a Wizkid was today stoned by angry fans at the VFS Global Services, Lekki phase 1 over the Azonto Crooner’s arrogant attitude and his refusal to part away with some naira notes despite the much accolades he got from the cheering crowd who were so elated to catch a glimpse of their Superstar.

Wizkid who was dressed in a White T-shirt and a Red Sofa Shoe came in a black Porshce Cayenne with covered number plates, the starboy who must have been sneaked into the VFS Compound came out into the waiting hands of a large number of cheering fans who wanted to shake and snap pictures with Wizkid and they obviously wanted some naira notes as well.

According to report, Wizkid came outside the VFS Compound where he had gone to submit travelling documents for Canada and shunned the cheering crowd.
All efforts to get Wizkid to snap pictures, shake or even show “some love” financially to the cheering crowd fell on deaf ears as Starboi completely ignored everyone as he walked arrogantly into the waiting Porsche Cayenne.

Witnesses at the scene confirmed that Wizkid’s silence and arrogant attitude got the cheering fans pissed hence, they resulted into stoning him as he made to drive out.
Unfortunately for Wizkid, one of the many stones caught his car side glass but the singer did not wait a second.
We hope the damage done to Wizkid’s car won’t cost him more thousands than he would have threw at the crowd waiting for him, some 20k could have saved Wizkid the embarrassment. Wizkid is yet to officially comment about this though.
