Meet Ngozi Braide; Nigeria Good Looking Police PRO

What a man can do, a woman can do better. This is true of Ngozi Braide, Police Public Relations Officer,Lagos State Command and also a Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Ngozi  gets a lot of attention from the opposite sex but this is how she copes with them as she explained in a recent interview

''I am coping well. I don’t have to bother about the ones on Facebook for now because I don’t have an account right now. Some impostors were found to be running a parallel account with my original account and I had to close it. But on my phone I get so many calls, many of which come from men who just call for nasty reasons. In fact, I get 50 per cent reasonable calls and 50 per cent nasty calls. Then physically at functions, some men really make me feel shy because of their gestures. I have, however, chosen never to act snobbishly, so I handle them maturely.

Everybody Calls Me Thief, But Nobody Knows What Led Me To This — Suspect

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Everybody Calls Me Thief, But Nobody Knows What Led Me To This
Marvellous Moris, which is actually not so marvellous as his first name, a 27-year old theft suspect, has allegedly confessed in court that hunger drove him into stealing a handset in a cosmetic store.
The suspect protested Monday at a Lagos court for being charged to court after the police had recovered the stolen item from him.
He said he was not a long-time thief and the police should not have charged him to court because they have recovered the phone from him, adding that he only stole it to sell and buy food to eat.
Morris blamed the police for his predicament, confessing that he had to steal in order to make ends meet.
He said nobody, including the police, bothered to ask him whether he had eaten the day he stole.
“I did not eat a day before I stole and there was no hope of eating that day. So I tried to find a way to survive,” he said.
Morris said he pleaded with the police to release him because he was not a long-time thief but they went ahead to charge him to court.
“Everybody is interested in calling me a thief and nobody knows what led me to stealing,” he lamented.
The Edo-State born suspect explained that he is from a poor family and he had looked for job but did not find any, so he had to steal to survive.
Morris was arrested at 2, Temidara Street LIasu Road , Egbe Idimu, Idimu, Lagos where he allegedly stole a Samsung hand set worth N18,000 belonging to James Nwanuji, under false pretense that he wanted to buy some items in the cosmetic store.
He was caught later when he allegedly went to sell it. Morris was handed over to the police at Idimu Division for theft and the handset was tendered as exhibit.
When asked whether he went to the shops to buy items, he said he went there only to steal.
Morris is now facing one-count charge of stealing before the court where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr P. E. Nwaka, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody because he did not meet his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 13 November for mention.

Lagos Police Arrest 2 Fake Doctors

Sunday, August 18, 2013

Lagos Police Arrest 2 Fake Doctors
The Police Command paraded two suspected fake medical doctors on August 16, 2013, Friday.
The suspects were seized for operating an unlicensed hospital named ‘Care Hospital’ at Omotoba Street, Unity Estate, Iba, Lagos.
The fake doctors identified as Gabriel Onyema Ihejiero, 39, and Nwankwo Stephen, age unknown, who has been employed as doctor by Ihejiero.
According to the police, on 26 July, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Damian Okoro, who is the Area ‘E’ Commander, Festac Town, received a distress call that some fake doctors were operating in Iba area and they were arrested.
Nwankwo Stephen has said the following in his confessional statement: “The MD (Ihejiero) is my friend. He came to me for an advice, then I suggested to him that we should start a hospital business and he agreed.
“I only worked for two years in his hospital before I stopped. I was trained as an auxiliary nurse in Ondo State for two years.”
The police said their investigation revealed that the two suspects never attended any medical or nursing school and they have conducted over 80 deliveries for pregnant women in the hospital.
While corroborating the Police report that they have carried out series of surgical operations, Stephen said: “I have delivered over 90 pregnant women and they were all successful.”
In his own confession, Ihejiero, who claimed to be selling bond paper in Ghana before he began the hospital business, said: “I own the hospital located at Iba. Though I am not a medical doctor, I employed a doctor with two years medical experience.”
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ngozi Braide, while speaking at the parade, advised the public not to patronise unlicensed hospitals and quack doctors.
