Couple Dressed Up As Shrek & Princess Fiona For Their Wedding

While most brides dream of throwing a white wedding which will make other women green with envy,  this 44 years old bride painted herself and her husband-to-be green for their fairy-tale wedding based on the film Shrek.
Amanda, 44, and Nathan Gibbs, 39, wedded today after eight years together.
They had lost a number of friends to cancer, so the couple decided to wed dressed as Shrek and Fiona and use the day to raise money for charity.
Instead of wedding gifts, the couple asked their guests to donate money to Cancer Research.
Guests also came dressed up for the themed celebrations – dressing up as the Gingerbread Man, Mickey Mouse and Jack Sparrow from Pirates Of The Caribbean.

One of the highly anticipated wedding of the year is between Tiwa Savage and her fiance/manager, Tunji ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun. The couple who met in the United States in 2009 would tie the knot  today, Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria.

According to reports, the very tight-knit wedding is not only strictly by invitation but just Like 2face & Annie’s Dubai wedding, there has been a ban on taking photos or videos during the wedding as security would be in place to ensure compliance.
Let’s hope that works..Can’t wait to see the invitees because TeeBillz said not everyone would be invited…..

What Went Down At Peter Okoye’s Wedding

These were some of the major activities that happened at Peter Okoye’s traditional wedding which held on Sunday.

  Peter Okoye didn’t initially plan to dance, it was the MC Gbenga Adeyinka who coerced him into doing so by paying him N10,000.

According to report, when asked how much he was paid for his first show, Peter answered Gbenga Adeyinka that he was paid N7, 500. The comedian offered to pay Peter N10,000 for him to dance, an offer Peter gladly obliged. After doing a few moves, the rest of the crew (without Paul) joined Peter on stage and danced to their hit song ‘Personally’.

Also, Susan Peters was the ‘famzer’ of the day. If there was any celebrity that took the most photos at the event, it was probably Susan Peters. The actress was seen going round smiling, hugging and making every effort to take a photo with as many celebrities in the hall as she could. She (and Toke Makinwa) practically supplied bloggers with many of the photos on their Instagram pages.

Moving on to the guests, Aliko Dangote and Folorunsho Alakija, the richest man and woman in Africa also showed up at the wedding. While Alakija had arrived at the beginning of the occasion and left about an hour later for another event on the mainland, Dangote arrived just a few minutes past 9PM when many of the top dignitaries had left. Abike Dabiri-Erewa was also there to honour the couple.

You see, despite the presence of security personals both from private security firms and men of the police force and armed forces ‘area boys’ made their presence known as they rushed to the car of well-known celebrities and hailed them. Funke Akindele and Don Jazzy attracted the most attention. On his part, Don jazzy threw some crispy naira notes at the area boys which almost led to a stampede as they scrambled for the cash.
Guests and journalists without their invitation cards were bounced and one of those affected was Soni Irabor. Well, ace broadcaster Sonny Irabor was almost refused entry into the venue. Irabor was dropped off at the entrance of the venue by his driver who then drove off to park. As he made to enter, the stern looking security guards who obviously did not recognize him refused him entry because he was without his invitation card. It took about 20 minutes for Irabor’s driver to return with the invitation card.
And then twin brother Paul decided to sing a special wedding song dedicated to his brother and his new wife Lola. Paul invited a few members of their band who obviously were familiar with the tune, for the special acapella rendition of the song. After the song, Paul hugged Peter and said, ‘I’m very proud of you my brother, congratulations.’

In conclusion, the performances were nothing short of exciting. Although there were many music celebrities who attended the event, only a few got to mount the stage to serenade the couple. Some of them were Flavour, KCEE, Iyanya, Banky W, Tiwa Savage, J Martins, Phyno, M.I, Lynxxx, Ice Prince and Naeto C.

Peter Okoye And Lola Omotayo's November 17 Wedding

On Sunday, November 17, 2013, the most anticipated celebrity traditional wedding between Peter Okoye and Lola Omotayo, will hold at The Arc Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

And according to Encomium, the nuptials is expected to be carnival-like, star-studded,  going by the array of guests already slated to honour the celebrated couple.

While telecommunications giant, Glo boss, Mike Adenuga Jnr. is going to chair the nuptials, gifted comedienne, Helen Paul is no longer going to co-host with fellow comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka. This is because Helen will be performing at comedian AY’s London show holding that same day.

According to one of the planning committee members:

“Invitations have been sent out, except for few friends who are not in the country at the moment. Apart from the afore-mentioned names, we’re also expecting some other celebrities, which I don’t want to mention.”

Although, Peter’s mum passed on a year ago, his father, Mr. Okoye will lead other siblings from their base in Ifite-Dunu, Akwa Village, Anambra State, to Lagos for marriage rites.

Peter, 33, is going to be the first celebrity son of Mr. Okoye to marry. His brother, Paul has already proposed to his babymama and long time girlfriend, Anita Itokwu-Isama, but yet to pick a date. However, the woman that rocks the life of their elder brother, Jude, 38, is yet to be known, as he has not been linked romantically with any lady.

Meanwhile, there is massive demand for the wedding aso ebi and headgear, otherwise known as gele, that go for N40, 000.

As you read this, we can tell you authoritatively that the demand has soared, but only few were able to get. Those who didn’t get the complete aso ebi have gone for the N5000 headgear.

An inside source said:

“There is no aso-ebi for men, except for family and close friends. However, the groom, Peter has given out free cap (blue) to friends, especially celebrities, who are excluded from the male aso-ebi. By now, they should have gotten theirs, with access card. The access card admits one person and should be brought to the venue.”

Breaking News: Nollywood Actor Shot Dead 3 Weeks After His Wedding

An Edo born Nollywood actor, Flavian Okojie has been reportedly shot dead in Benin city by unknown gunmen, three weeks after his wedding.

Flavian and former EBS but now NTA(Benin) presenter Omo-kivie Adeola got married barely three weeks ago.
He was also a staff of Edo State Board of Internal Revenue.
His wife shared the information via her Facebook page.

This man can never think of a better wedding gift. Everyone was taken by surprise when Governor Gabriel Suswam played the best man at a wedding that held at Our Lady Perpetual Help Cathedral, Makurdi, Benue State, over the weekend!

The groom, Peter Anyiman, is a cook, who serves Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Michael Tumba.
Playing his role as the best man, Governor Suswam took time to adjust the groom’s tie and wipe sweat from his face to the admiration of the guests who attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the wedding reception, Governor Suswam said Anyiman – who had serves Rev. father Tumba in Abuja for 18 years – had demonstrated commitment to his job, thus he deserved to be honoured. Suswam further advised people to take their jobs seriously.

Anyiman said he considered himself lucky to have the governor serve as his best man and could not have wished for a better wedding gift.

Meet Actress,Empress Njamah; The New Wedding Planner In Town

Just recently, I opened my boutique in Abuja. I also have a spa and a saloon in the city. I will soon open my Lagos outlet, it is just that Lagos is too choked up for me, but that should not be an excuse. I am definitely working on my Lagos branch. I have loads of customers in Lagos that I bring stuff for more than every other place. However, I love Abuja right now for its serenity.

As per movie, during my spare time, I still run to some locations to shoot one or two movies. In fact, I am working on some scripts. I think a lot of people don’t know that there are other things I do aside acting. I do bridal makeup. I am more of a wedding planner. I was very busy during Tuface’s wedding. I was one of the people organizing things and after the whole ceremony; I think I used two days to unwind.

I was in charge of Mercy Johnson’s wardrobe during her wedding and I was happy about what I did for her. I did one beautiful wedding a few Saturdays ago and I got like four other jobs from that one. So that’s it. I don’t have to put it on the billboard. I’m not a loud person. I let my work speak for me. A good brand will always remain fresh even if went out of circulation for five years. I don’t believe one needs to do a hundred movies to stay relevant and fresh in the industry. I know some people who have featured in many productions but yet do not have that star status. If you don’t have the star streak, you don’t have it. You can do just a movie in a year and you will be high up there.
