Man Wants Divorce Because Wife Beats Him

Friday, November 22, 2013

Man Wants Divorce Because Wife Beats Him
A 75-year-old man, Fashola Fakorede, begged Igando Customary Court, Lagos, to dissolve his marriage to his wife, Funke, 49, over Funke beating him.
Fakorede told the court that his wife had turned him into a punching bag and also inflict injuries over his body.
“My wife wants to kill me, she beats me every day. I don’t want to die now, save my life.”
He claims his wife beats him if he asks for food or anything and laments that she has made it a routine affair.

Fashola adds that his wife doesn’t care about him any more, noting that she can be absent for several days and if he queries her, she will hit him with any dangerous weapon available.
“And my daughter is also taking her footstep. She brings home different men and my wife will not query her. So, I sent her away from my house,” he said.
The man says he doesn’t love her any more and wants a divorce.
Funke, a trader, denied the allegations, saying she did not beat her husband and always took good care of him and respected him.
The mother of three, however, accused her husband of denying his children the right to go to school.
She also added that her husband had disowned his daughter, and urged the court not to grant his wish as she still loved him.
The judge, Mr. R. I. Adeyeri, adjourned the case till November 25 for further hearing.

Governor Chime Chases His Wife Out Of Government House

Governor Chime Chases His Wife Out Of Government House
These are indeed not the best of times for Governor Sullivan Chime and his second wife, Clara, who is said to be having "serious" medical challenge. Their crises assumed a new dimension on Sunday as Governor Chime with the assistance of security operatives, sent his wife from the Enugu State Government House.

Mrs. Chime’s personal effects were packed for her by the governor and his security detail, and she was forcibly taken out of the Government House in broad daylight.

Mrs. Chime, who struggled to depart with her four-year-old son, was bundled into a convoy of six cars and taken to her mother’s residence at House 38, Coal City Estate, Enugu.

However, on getting there, the mother who had not been notified that her daughter was being brought home, was not around. This forced Mrs. Chime and the security operatives to sit in their cars waiting for her mother to return for several hours.

Soon, the news spread round town and journalists rushed to Clara mother's residence to cover the incident live. Consequently, Governor Chime ordered that his wife be brought back to Government House.

Sources say he intends to send her back to her mother on Monday.

The governor was said to have taken the sad action to drive his wife away because she petitioned him before the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) over her confinement against her wish.

Late prophet Ajanaku's wife moves to rented apartment as his family fight over his assets

Joy Ajanaku, the wife of the late spiritual leader of Christ Victory Chapel International, prophet Ireti Ajanaku, who died August 18th (or 22nd), has been forced to move out of her matrimonial home into a rented apartment after her husband's family allegedly made life difficult for her after the prophet passed on. According to reliable sources, the ministry's board moved Joy Ajananku and her children out of her husband's Lagos home into a 3-bedroom flat in Abule Egba, Lagos after constant harassment from the prophet's family, who are insisting that Joy is not legally married to their son.

Joy and Ireti Ajanaku lived together for 7 years before finally formalizing their union with a court wedding in 2010 but the family insist that the wedding never took place...and want her removed as the man's next of kin. Family members are now fighting over his assets said to be worth millions of Naira.

Despite having issue's her late husband's family, Joy Ajanaku is on great terms with members of the church her husband left behind. The ministry's board agreed to install her as their new leader and said the late prophet anointed her as the chosen one before his death. They also said they have a wedding certificate to prove that she was truly married to their late spiritual leader. Joy and some members of the church are getting ready to take late Ajanaku's family to court over his estate.

My Wife Is Funnier Than I Am — Victor Osuagwu

Sunday, September 8, 2013

My Wife Is Funnier Than I Am — Victor Osuagwu
Actor and comedian, Victor Osuagwu, met Roseline when she was in her third year in junior secondary school! The couple share the experiences of their eight-year-old marriage
How did you meet?
Roseline: We met as far back as 1990. He had enrolled at the School of Basic Studies in Choba, my maternal home town, where the University of Port Harcourt is situated. I was living in my father’s house in another area but anytime I visited my relatives, I would see him. The first day I visited, he saw me and said he was going to marry me. I thought he was joking but he started treating me like his younger sister. Then, I was in Junior Secondary School 3. He helped cut my hair and wash my uniform.
Victor: I was in the University of Port Harcourt when I met a little girl who was still in the secondary school. Since she was still at a tender age, I decided to allow her grow to a point when I could marry her.
How long did you date before you got married?
Roseline: If we calculate the period of courtship and marriage, we have been together for 20 years.
Victor: We courted for almost nine years before we started thinking about marriage. I officially married her in 2002.
How has the journey in matrimony been?
Roseline: It has been beautiful. We share things in common and he does not hide anything from me. I don’t hide things from him too because we grew up together.
Victor: It has been a happy marriage and we have not shouted at each other once. Though we have had our ups and downs, we are doing very well.
Being an actor and comedian, are there occasions you don’t know whether to take your husband serious or not?
Roseline: I understand him well and know when he is serious and when he is not.
Do you laugh at his jokes?
Roseline: Yes. He makes me laugh. Besides, in the house, we are all comedians. After my secondary school, he urged me to pursue a diploma in Theater Arts while I awaited my JAMB result. After I gained admission, I switched over to Political Science and Administrative Studies.
Do you ever quarrel?
Roseline: No, you can’t see us quarrel.
If you are angry with him, what do you do?
Roseline: If I am angry with him for any reason, I will point it out to him. I will tell him that I don’t like what he did and if he is at fault, he would apologise. I don’t have issues with him in the area of fidelity because he is not a womaniser. He does not know if another woman exists besides me, but he could make other mistakes. I talk to him like a brother and we understand each other very well. We don’t quarrel. People in our neighbourhood are always amazed at our union. Couples come to me seeking tips on how to have a successful marriage.
Victor: We don’t even quarrel. I beg her every time to accept to quarrel with me, even if it is once. Truth is, if I entertain people and make them happy, there is no reason why I should make my own family unhappy. I have even injected my comedy traits into her so much so that she cracks jokes more than I do. I see her as a special creation. I don’t make her angry and if I do, it is like making my mother angry.
How do you hang out as a couple?
Roseline: We sometimes go out to spend time alone or stay in our room when we are at home. Then, we would tell the children that they should give us space because this is the time for mummy and daddy.
Victor: Sometimes, I take her out and sometimes, we travel abroad. I am making plans to take her to the United States on our next vacation. This is the magic I use to keep the marriage going — I treat her well and make her feel like she is a sweet girl. There is no other way to celebrate a woman than to let her know that she is still as sweet as she was when you first met her. Let her understand that she is still a brand new woman for you even if she has given birth to children. Once that is done, your home will always be in a very good order. Some men find it difficult to even take their wives out. I believe you should take your wife out. This is because she will feel good and her love for you will be renewed.
How do you cope when his work takes him away for a very long time?
Roseline: At such times, what I do is to pray for him. I will gather the children and we will pray for God’s protection and that God should make a way for him. We know that he is a humble man, not the type who would go away, leaving the wife to wonder where her husband is. When he travels, he can call more than 10 times a day. He would inform me before leaving wherever he is, then as the journey progresses, whichever point he gets to, he would call to tell me where he is.
Do you operate a joint account?
Roseline: No, we don’t operate a joint account. He has his own account and I have mine but our money is spent together. If he is going to withdraw money, he will let me know and once he brings the money, we would plan on how to spend it for the family and other needs at home. Also, he reserves aside a portion for specific purposes.
How have you affected each others lives?
Roseline: God has favoured me and my husband, to the extent that if he is picking up a job, he would call me and inform me about the job and the amount they are willing to pay. I will advise him to accept the job after calculating his transportation and other expenses. I am always happy and have a relaxed mind. If somebody makes him angry, he would seek my advice before reacting. Once he calls me to complain, I ask him to calm down and advise him to be cautious and not fight cases in court. He should not have enemies. He cannot do without my advice because he knows I proffer the right advice to him.
Victor: She makes me have a sense of responsibility. No matter my work outside, I always remember my home and family. I always want to go back home and kiss my wife. My wife and children are always there to pray for me.

Any Man Who Claims He Doesn't Cheat On His Wife Is Lying; We Are All Doing It

Saturday, September 7, 2013

Any Man Who Claims He Doesn't Cheat On His Wife Is Lying
Since the story of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo's alleged scandal with Ese Walter and Franca E. broke in the social media, a lot has been said about MEN and the need to face reality and stop pretending.

One Muslim cleric even described Christian men as people who claim they only eat once in a day but end up taking different snacks in the course of the day. His submission, we observed, is that Christian men are refusing to marry more wives like their Muslim counterparts, but they are sleeping with young ladies outside their home. Bad Thinz

Now, below is what a popular Lagos big-boy said about men and cheating:

Having girlfriends outside? Well, any man that says he doesn’t have a girlfriend outside his home is obviously lying. We all engage in it. So I am not an exception.
His name is MC Oluomo, a popular Lagos socialite who has been linked with ladies in the movie industry.

But is it really true that men can't stay for life without cheating on their wives? What do you think?

Saka and wife Olaide share their love story

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Saka and wife Olaide share their love story
It’s been difficult to track down Hafiz Oyetoro. The lecturer-actor-comedian at the centre of the MTN-Etisalat portability drama understands the importance of silence while trying not to escalate an already sensitive and precarious brand war between two giants.

But it was time to break the silence when he clocked 50 recently. And he spoke with NET about his life, family, and more…
How do you feel being celebrated at 50?
I feel so cool. I feel grateful to Almighty God for giving me the grace to reach 50. I know that many people have gone even without reaching the age of 20. 50 years marks a new beginning and I thank God that today I can be alive to see 50.

How did acting begin for you?
As an aspiring actor, when I finished secondary school, I started with a local theatre group in my town, Iseyin. From there, I went to University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University to study Dramatic Artsfor my first degree. I later went to University of Ibadan for my Masters degree in African Studies. I am presently pursuing a PHD programme in Performance Studies at the University of Ibadan. I’m sure you already know that I also lecture in the Theatre Arts Department of the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education. During all that process, I got myself involved in different productions on TV, film and radio. It’s been very interesting so far and I thank God for giving me the grace to increase in my chosen field.

How has the journey been so far?
I must say it’s been quite a ride with so many years of sacrifices. I thank God that he has given me the grace to go through all of the challenges and to achieve the little that I have through these years. I know there is still a lot to achieve but it’s been great journey so far.

How was growing up for you?
I come from a very humble background. I grew up in a village in Iseyin, that’s Oyo State. My parents were farmers. They taught me to be contented with what I have. I am who I am because of the values that they have impacted in me. I just thank God that I’m a different story today.

What would you say is responsible for your recent success?
It is God. God has been very wonderful to me. God has been there for me and my family. He has given me the grace to be associated with great people. More so, I have had the opportunity to be surrounded by people that have added positive value to me life. My family, friends, colleagues, employers and clients, they have actually contributed in one way or the other to who and what I am today.

What are some of the challenges that you have had to go through to get to where you are today?
When you say challenges, to me, they are necessary ingredients to live a better life. Challenges actually make room for people to move further in life, to seek for more value and to grow. Challenges are just mere distractions. That is why I say I am thanking God for giving me the grace to surmount all the challenges, to resist all the temptations and to solve all the crisis of life.

What motivated your porting from Etisalat to MTN?
All I can say is that both brands, Etisalat and MTN are fantastic brands and they are my friends.

Why do you think these telecoms companies have chosen you?
I really don’t know. I was just busy doing my thing and then they came. I believe everybody aspires for good things. We all desire for an elevation in status, but how it may come, we sometimes don’t know. The only explanation I can give is to say that it has been the grace of God.

How much did you get for the MTN deal?
I would not talk about that. I would only talk about that much later at the appropriate time.

Do you think people now celebrate and recognize more for your MTN endorsement than for your acting?
I think it more of what I have been doing and God’s grace. I think it is more of everything. And I’m lucky to have worked with MTN and Etisalat.

How much of an influence has your wife been to your success?
I have a very beautiful woman for a wife. A woman who has made the house my home. Every time I go out, I want to go back home. I always feel happy to go home. She’s always been there for me. She’s more of my friend, my mother, my sister, everything. I thank God who has given me the grace to have a woman who shares my vision. The greatest mistake anybody can make in this world is to marry a woman who does not share in his vision. God has given me that grace to marry a woman who shares my vision. The things I do, I do them without any problem. My home is stable and my job is going on well.

You have featured in many stage and screen productions, which of them do you enjoy working on the most?
Each has its own peculiarities, but if I was to choose, it definitely has to be the stage. On stage, you come alive as you would need to interact with your audience by your acts and convince them with every word you speak and action you take. For the screen, you are just performing for the camera. There’s a lot of work being put into either of them, but personally speaking, stage is my thing.

As a lecturer, do you ever find yourself in a position where your students do not take you seriously because of your comic roles on TV?
My students understand the difference between acting and real life. They are Theater Arts students of course and so they should know better. They know the difference between Saka and Mr. Oyetoro. Saka is the actor, while Mr. Oyetoro is the lecturer. They have learnt to always draw a line between the two.

Now that you are 50, what should your fans be expecting from you?
They should expect more productive and positive contribution to the industry from me. I really want to go into television production. I know there are challenges in making films in Nigeria, but basically I am more comfortable with television production. Already we have started with a television production and we hope to put it on air before the end of this year.

How would you describe the present state of the entertainment industry?
It’s been encouraging. In those days when our senior colleagues started, they were not well regarded. They were seen as never-do-wells but today, things have changed. People are living off theatre. People are living off entertainment. Considering our productions here and there, for about two years now, Nigeria has ranked second in the world in terms of production. That means we are productive. Of course we cannot be compared to Hollywood because of the lack of facilities and the challenges of the environment that we have found ourselves, but I believe that in the next few years, we are going to be there.

Although in the past, commitment in terms of what we produce was far better. These days, commercial values are more of paramount interest, but I believe that as time goes on, we will go back and start to think about content. Our stories are good. We have stories to tell but the way to tell it is our problem. I’m very sure we are going to find the right way to tell it one day.

NET also chatted with Saka’a wife, Olaide:

How does it feel to see so many people coming out today to celebrate your husband?
I feel excited. I feel great and to God be the glory.

How has the years you have spent together been?
It has been wonderful and God has been with us.

What was the main attraction for your husband?
It is simply love. That was the main attraction and I thank God for everything

Amaechi & His Wife Didn't Visit Me; So I Have To Ignore Them –– Patience Jonathan

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

Patience Jonathan
First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan on Monday said that despite the legions of prominent Nigerians who have flocked the presidential villa in Abuja to pay her condolence visit over the death of her foster mother, Late Mama Sisi, the governor of her home state, Governor Rotimi Amaechi and his wife, the Rivers First Lady have blatantly refused to visit her.

Below is why Patience Jonathan is angry again:
"It is instructive to note that since the death of Mrs. Charity Oba, the mother of the First Lady, several groups and individuals from across the country have come to condole the First Family at the State House.

"They include state governors and their wives from all the political divides; Nigeria’s former presidents and heads of state and their wives, captains of industry, female ambassadors and high commissioners of Nigeria, other members of the diplomatic corps, royal fathers and traditional leaders - the list is endless.
However, the governor and the wife from the First Lady's state have not paid such a visit," said a statement by director of information in the office of the first lady, Mrs. Ayo Adesugba.

Mrs Jonathan also stated how the Rivers State first lady, Mrs. Amaechi refused to receive her at the airport.
She stated: "Customarily, the wife of the state governor receives the first lady whenever she visits any state. That is why the wife of Bayelsa State governor travelled from Yenagoa to receive the first lady. Ordinarily, one would have expected the same complement from the wife of the Rivers State governor."
